Our Wedding

Our Story It all started on May 5th, 2022 — Cinco de Mayo — when fate (and maybe a little tequila) brought us together. We met at a lively bar in La Jolla called Jose’s Courtroom, where Avalon was dancing to the live band and Alex happened to spot her from across the room. He made his way over, and the rest is history. Funny enough, Jose’s has been a longtime local favorite — Alex’s dad, Mark, went there as a young adult, and so did Avalon’s parents, Anseth and Keith. We still laugh at how our lives were already overlapping before we ever even met.Even more serendipitous? We both grew up in San Diego — Avalon from La Jolla, Alex from Scripps Ranch — and for years we lived just four blocks apart, completely unaware of each other’s existence. That is, until that unforgettable Cinco de Mayo. From the very beginning, we found ourselves sharing more than just mutual hometowns. We both love lazy beach days, trying strange foods (Alex ordered baby eels on our first real date at Costa Brava), and spending time with our families. We later found out that Alex’s mom and Avalon share the same birthday, and that Alex’s dad went to the same high school as Avalon and her parents too — more proof that the universe really does have a plan. We’re still in awe of all the connections, coincidences, and shared moments that led us to each other. We’re so incredibly thankful to have found this love — even if it took a few tequila shots to get there 😉Thank you to everyone who’s played a role in our lives. From Pauma, a drive up Palomar yields more trails, nature, forest, and vantage points. Trails like the Doane Valley or Observatory trail offer nice views over the valley and even ocean views on clear days.

Driving Directions to the DeLorean Ranch Please put this address in your maps first: 16290 Pauma Valley Drive Pauma Valley, CA 92061 This address is to the Pauma Valley Country Club front security gate entrance on highway 76. Your name will be with security there. Once inside security put this next address into maps: 15305 Pauma Valley Dr. Pauma Valley, CA 92061 This address will guide you to our private drive on Cuesta de Camellia (there is no street sign for Cuesta de Camellia). You will come to a three way stop sign. At this three way stop, to the right is the Pauma Valley Country Club club house and the Club’s casita’s. To get to DeLorean Ranch at Astin Retreat continue straight on Pauma Valley Dr and follow the house numbers until here: 15305 Pauma Valley Dr. Just before our drive way, on the left you will see two tall pillars with stone lions on top. We are the next driveway on your left after that. The driveway has large Adobe brick curved walls on each side. You will see a large DeLorean Ranch sign at our adobe walls entrance on the left. Turn left here on to our private road (lots of guests miss the turn and pass it. If you get to the back gate you went too far). Once you turn go here: 32220 Cuesta de CamelliaThis is the DeLorean Ranch address. As you enter the private drive and drive in, you'll see valet and our parking lot. There will be a golf cart to escort you up the hill to the venue.
